As the December/January issue of Gaveling the Glass Ceiling goes to press, it’s a good time to take stock of 2018 and look forward to 2019.

In 2018, Thomson Reuters’ Transforming Women’s Leadership in the Law (TWLL) hosted two fireside chats and six networking dinners that brought together women attorneys from law firms and corporate legal departments with the goal of making introductions, fostering relationships, and promoting collaboration. Our TWLL website published 55 articles and enjoyed 9,000 unique visitors. We are thrilled with how the legal community has participated in the various TWLL channels.

In addition, 2018 was the second year of our well-regarded “Rising Stars” program, which focused on creating unique experiences for a cohort of high-potential women partners at AmLaw 50 firms. The program provided structured advice on business development and law firm economics, and it also introduced the cohort to established general counsel and other women business leaders. We are proud of the networking and mentoring that our Rising Stars program enabled.


And while winning awards isn’t why we do what we do, TWLL was thrilled — and humbled — to be named the Gold Stevie® Winner for “Website of Blog of the Year” for its dedicated sections on the Legal Executive Institute and Legal Insights UK & Ireland sites. We have you to thank for engaging with the website and providing feedback on how best to serve you.

As we look forward to 2019, we on the TWLL team within the Thomson Reuters’ Legal Executive Institute are thankful to our board members, readers, advocates, and supporters for your continued devotion to TWLL. As we enter 2019, we remain committed to the larger cause of advancing women’s leadership in the legal profession, and to celebrating the successes as we continue to progress.
