As CFO – Americas for Hogan Lovells. William M. Washington, III works closely with firm leadership to formulate a vision for the future of the firm and provide an understanding of the firm’s financial picture to help drive profitability. William is responsible for billing, eBilling, collections, cash management (firm and client trust accounts, application of receipts, treasury management), compensation related (partners, attorneys and business services), payments to vendors (including expense reports), and any reporting, analysis or presentation needs.
Before joining Hogan Lovells in March 2019, William worked at two other AmLaw 100 law firms and has served in leadership positions in other diverse industries including Consulting (Accenture) and Financial Services (Fannie Mae).
William is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, a level of certification indicating proficiency in improving processes and projects in order to make them more efficient or cost effective. William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Mississippi State University, an MBA from the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s in Law Firm Management from George Washington University, in addition to being a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and the Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt referred to above.
