Marcus is a lawyer at Millard & Company LLP, where he practices in the areas of employment, human rights and civil litigation. Marcus has been involved in a number of cases of interest to the LGBTQ community. Marcus was counsel to AB, an 11 year old trans girl who challenged the repeal of the 2015 sex ed curriculum. Before that, he was counsel to the intervenor LGBTOUT in Trinity Western v Law Society of Upper Canada. Marcus fought for and won the disclosure of secret guidelines about criminal prosecutions of HIV-positive people in Ontario. In 2016, he organized a group of lawyers to provide defences to those who had been caught in an undercover police sting at Marie Curtis Park. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Before becoming a lawyer, Marcus was a journalist who covered local and national issues for a variety of publications.
