Director of Arbitration
Loïc E. Coutelier joined Modria as Director of Arbitration, and advises the company on issues relating mainly to arbitration, algorithmic dispute resolution, and general institutional case management. Among other things, Coutelier is in charge of a program handling about 200,000 arbitration cases a year in the State of New York.
Before joining Modria, he was working for the Gould Center, at Stanford Law School. His research focused on issues relating to international arbitration, WTO litigation, the Alien Torts Statute, international trade regulation, mediation, online dispute resolution, and dispute systems design, etc. Coutelier also worked as a Deputy Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and in Hong Kong, where he administered arbitration cases between parties from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Pacific region, North America, and Eastern Europe.
