Ed Newberry is Global Managing Partner of Squire Patton Boggs for Public Policy, Investigatory and Regulatory Solutions.
Described by the New York Times as a “King of K Street,” Newberry maintains a diverse public policy practice representing national and multi-national corporations, trade associations, municipal governments, sovereign governments, and colleges and universities on legislative, regulatory and other policy matters. Ed is one of eight professionals ranked in Tier One among government relations lawyers in Legal 500, which noted he is “. . . one of the most talented lawyers in Washington” and “an excellent strategic thinker and tactition.”
Repeatedly selected a "Top Lobbyist" by The Hill newspaper and as a top municipal lobbyist by Politico, Ed's work has been highlighted by the trade industry press, including National Journal and Roll Call, and others. Before joining the firm in 1991, Ed served as a senior staff member in various Congressional staff positions, including Chief Appropriations Staff and Press Secretary to Congressman Frank R. Wolf (R-VA) and Associate Staff Member on the House Appropriations Committee. He also served as Managing Partner of Patton Boggs LLP from 2011 until 2014 and as a member of the Executive Committee of that firm from 2004 on.
