Dr. Aviva Goldberg

Rabbi, Congregation Shir Libeynu

For two decades, Rabbi Goldberg has planned and implemented all our worship services from Shabbat to High Holy Days. She provides pastoral care to the community and also conducts meaningful life cycle rituals for Jewish families and individuals. She oversees and supervises all the children’s educational programming, including our bnei mitzvah programme. Rabbi Goldberg is a participating member of a liberal beit din of unaffiliated rabbis. Dr. Goldberg’s scholarly interests include contemporary Jewish theologies and women’s rituals. Her research and writing have appeared in several anthologies and academic journals. She was an assistant professor at York University’s faculty of liberal arts and professional studies, and before that taught middle school in Toronto for more than 20 years.
