C.W. Raines III serves as Chief Operating Officer of Dentons Bingham Greenebaum, where he ensures all firm operations function effectively and efficiently so that lawyers and staff can focus on delivering best-in-class client service.
C.W. draws on his experience as legal counsel and in business management to provide leadership and strategic guidance in various firm operations including budgeting and finance, staffing, marketing and human resources. He is responsible for evaluating monthly technology performance and delivering financial results. C.W. works with HR and Legal Talent to maintain proper support team staffing levels and in developing strong legal talent recruitment. He also assists the marketing department in enhancing the firm’s brand across multiple markets.
C.W.’s strategic thought leadership helps guide firm initiatives such as inorganic growth. He played a significant role in executing the combination between legacy firm Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP and Dentons and in creating the Golden Spike structure used in the combination. This is the same structure that will be used to build the first national US law firm.
Prior to joining the firm, C.W. held integral roles at the 3M Company, one of 30 companies in the Dow Jones Industrial Average with sales in excess of $30B and more than 90,000 employees worldwide. These roles included Senior Global Legal Counsel, Senior Global Business Manager and Business Development and Strategy Manager.
C.W. also served as General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel of Aearo Technologies and as an associate in our Indianapolis office where his practice focused on corporate services including mergers and acquisitions, start-ups and lending transactions. C.W. has traveled extensively throughout his career, meeting with customers and clients in over 23 countries around the world.
