Maureen Harms

Associate General Counsel & Managing Counsel, 3M Company

Maureen Harms is currently Associate General Counsel and Managing Counsel at 3M. Prior to assuming this role in January 2018, Maureen served as legal counsel to several health care businesses in 3M and beginning in 2009 as Associate General Counsel for 3M’s Health Care Business Group. In addition, from 2012-2017 she served as Chair of 3M’s Pro Bono Committee. Before joining 3M in 1997, Maureen clerked in US Federal Court, District of Minnesota for the Honorable Donald D. Alsop. She also spent several years pursuing her passion for International and Human Rights law serving as a consultant for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, Switzerland, clerk to the US Representative to the UN Sub-Commission on the Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, and Assistant Editor for the German Yearbook of International Law in Kiel, Germany.

Maureen graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School and has an M.A. in Irish Literature from University College Cork, Ireland and a B.A. in Philosophy and English from the University of Notre Dame.
