Executive Director, Legal & Compliance, Morgan Stanley
Erin is an Executive Director and the Managing Attorney for the Global Litigation Group in the Legal and Compliance Division at Morgan Stanley. As the Managing Attorney, Erin is responsible for the operational functioning of the Litigation Group, including coordinating and supervising attorneys and legal professionals in all aspects of litigation and regulatory matter management, as well as litigation reserve planning and outside counsel management. She has extensive commercial, securities and corporate governance litigation experience, including regulatory and special committee investigations, multidistrict litigation and bankruptcy litigation matters.
In 2015, Morgan Stanley’s Chief Legal Officer appointed Erin as Pro Bono Lead Counsel, with global responsibility for the pro bono program in the Legal and Compliance Division. Among other things, Morgan Stanley’s pro bono program provides free legal services to veterans, immigrant children (in both SIJ and asylum proceedings), LGBTQ asylum seekers, non-profits, children in need of special education services and victims of trafficking and domestic abuse. Erin currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Ali Forney Center, which provides a full range of services to homeless LGBTQ youth in New York City, including housing. She also is a member of the Board of Directors for New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, where she sits on the Executive Committee, the New York City Bar Committee on Pro Bono and Legal Services, where she co-chairs the In-House Subcommittee, and is an appointed member of the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono & Public Service and the ABA Working Group on Unaccompanied Minor Immigrants.
Erin is a graduate of Bard College and Tulane Law School. After college, she taught special education in a rural public elementary school in Louisiana as a member of Teach For America. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Erin was a litigator at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
