Partner, Boies Schiller Flexner LLP
Chris Caldwell is the administrative partner for the two Los Angeles offices of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP (BSF), an international law firm specializing in high-stakes litigation with offices throughout the United States, including offices in New York, Washington, San Francisco and Miami, as well as an office in London. Chris began practicing with BSF in April 2017, after he negotiated the merger of his 29-attorney litigation firm in downtown Los Angeles, Caldwell Leslie & Proctor, PC, into BSF. The merger was a textbook example of a successful merger, with every lawyer and every staff person at his old firm making the move to BSF.
In his thirty-plus years of practice, Chris has represented parties in all types of disputes, drawing on his experience as a prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice and his more recent work on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state court proceedings throughout the United States, as well as before international arbitration tribunals. He regularly represents major corporations and Hollywood studios, and also has defended several multinational law firms in malpractice cases. He has extensive trial experience and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and serves as a trustee of Whittier College. He recently was appointed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit as a special prosecutor in criminal contempt proceedings involving former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
