Anna M. Pohl is a senior editor for Practical Law at Thomson Reuters and writes about labor and employment issues. Before joining Thomson Reuters, she was a senior trial attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in the New York District Office, where she litigated employment discrimination cases under federal civil rights statutes and provided legal advice to federal investigators.
Before that, she litigated complex employment discrimination and consumer class actions at a boutique plaintiff-side law firm in Washington, DC and worked on immigration and domestic violence policy issues at NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund.
Ms. Pohl is a mediator on the Mediation Panel of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. She mediates employment and civil rights cases. She has also served on the Court's Mediator Advisory Committee.
Ms. Pohl is active in the New York City Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She serves on the City Bar's Executive Committee and is the immediate past Chair of the LGBT Rights Committee. She is a Co-Chair of the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section’s Outreach to Law Students Committee and active in the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee. She received her J.D. from New England Law – Boston and her B.A. from Towson State University.
